NANE NANE
GCDE participates in Nane Nane, the celebration of Farmers in Tanzania. The exposition is held in Mbeya at a large fair grounds facility. We were asked by the government leaders in Sumbawanga to be a part of this event to display some of the development projects that are helping people improve their lives Tanzania.
Many people in the farming community (about 80% of the population of Tanzania) are very poor and barely able to produce enough crops to feed their families. One of our aims is to work with these people, helping them to see that there is hope when they are willing to work together and commit themselves to taking the necessary steps rise up out of poverty.
The events and various displays at Nane Nane allow many people to begin to think about new ideas and concepts for their own small farms.
